Costco UK
Costco is a membership warehouse retailer selling groceries, household essentials, electronics, furniture and a wide range of other products. Its UK operation combines warehouse shopping with an online store, offering everything from bulk food packs to large appliances and garden equipment.
Costco in the UK
Costco opened its first UK warehouse in Thurrock, Essex, in November 1993. The American retailer introduced a membership-based shopping format built around large warehouses, selected product ranges and bulk purchasing.
Since then, Costco has expanded its UK warehouse network and online store, serving both individual members and eligible business customers.
Groceries and Bulk Buying
Costco stocks fresh food, meat, bakery products, frozen items, snacks, drinks and cupboard staples. Many products are sold in larger packs or multipacks, making the range useful for families, entertaining and business purchases.
Check pack sizes, unit prices and storage requirements when comparing bulk purchases.
Electronics and Home Appliances
The online range includes televisions, laptops, computers, washing machines, fridge freezers and small kitchen appliances. Product listings may also include extended warranties, installation or technical support on selected items.
Check product specifications, delivery arrangements and any included services before ordering.
Furniture, Homeware and Garden
Costco sells furniture, mattresses, bedding, kitchenware, storage products, outdoor furniture and garden equipment. Its wider selection can also include jewellery, clothing, toys, fitness equipment and seasonal products.
Online and warehouse ranges can differ, and prices may not be the same in both channels.
Costco Membership
Costco's warehouse shopping is membership-based, with individual and business membership options subject to eligibility requirements. Executive memberships provide additional benefits, including a 2% reward on eligible purchases under the programme's terms.
An online-only annual subscription is also available for customers who do not qualify for standard warehouse membership. Check the current membership options, fees and conditions before joining.
Online Shopping and Grocery Delivery
Costco.co.uk lets eligible shoppers browse products, compare specifications and order selected items for home delivery. Delivery charges and availability depend on the product and destination, and some items may be available online but not in a local warehouse.
Costco also offers grocery delivery on products specifically marked for that service. Its published service information states that these orders have a £5.99 delivery charge with no minimum spend. Check product eligibility and delivery coverage before ordering.
